Good-humored giants and a disobedient pony. How we shot “The Brave Little Tailor” cine-book (cover)

In 2016, we released the fairytale cine-book – The Brave Little Tailor. Now, we are going to treat you with photo snippets of what happened behind the scenes. Enjoy!

Scary, yet funny and amusing. Meet the family of giants - some of the brightest heroes of this Brother Grimm’s books. We were lucky to find the perfect actors for these parts. Voilà!

Lots of preparations were to be made before shooting. The make up was crucial; however, the process of putting it on would be a ticklish experience.

We also planned to equip our giants with artificial noses. But we eventually gave up on this idea, as it complicated the work of virtual artists at the post-production stage.

Here’s a snippet of shooting the indoor episode. Our director is using his body language to show the reaction required from the actors.

Our giants were cheerful and amusing, without taking the process very seriously.

And here’s a short dive into our magic journey to the Middle Ages. Below is how we shot the scene where the Brave Little Tailor is heading to the forest to conquer and kill the giants.

To make everything as real as possible, we called for reenactors’ help. We recreated the unique costumes of the time, having obtained the handmade chainmail clothing.

This is the most large-scaled scene of this story. We shot it from the hill in order to place the numerous heros.

But shooting it was not all roses. Just when everything was set, the horses refused to move. The horses were scared of the clanking of the armor from the actors riding them. Here’s one of the stubborn mares.

The horses demanded their trainers’ attention as they had to accompany their animals. This is how our instructors nearly became cine-book stars.

And here we are trying to make the horse rear for one of the episodes. A dangerous stunt, we must say.

But the most quarrelsome out of animals was a pony who would bite all the big horses and bully them. Here’s Brave Little Tailor next to his stubborn animal and its instructor.

For now, it’s a wrap. Enjoy “The Brave Little Tailor” in a cine-book format!
