I was a five-year-old kid when the first cannon shell dropped down to the border city of Abadan and the eight-year war started (1980-88).
I remember the plastic gun and soldiers and bullets which were my main toys and soldiers, jet fighters and military tanks that were my main subjects for drawing.
Today is 30-years after the ceasefire between two neighbor countries but people, especially children still living under the shadow of a war with an enemy that you may never to be able to see, also soldiers and guns are still the main subjects for playing.
Children as the soldiers for the future, have to know about the eight-year war which is known as the Holly Defence in Iran and they have to be ready for fighting with the enemy. Guns, Real or Plastic, are the toys that not only can learn them how to fight but also those are symbols of honesty and holiness. Children play with guns, even if they do not know how dangerous can be these toys when they open fire, and they may not even realize, how bad is killing a man
