Synopsis

Gerrie Hermann, aspiring rock star from a rich South African family, has an unusual proposal for Sophie Woods when he meets her for the first time in their university canteen. Gerrie, in the UK on a student visa, is looking for UK citizenship in order to pursue his musical career.

Sophie has never done anything out of the ordinary in the whole of her 19 years, but she decides to take Gerrie up on his offer of marriage in exchange for thirty thousand pounds to pay off her debts. Gerrie’s father is furious that his son has married against his wishes, and stops funding his lifestyle.

Gerrie and Sophie fall in love and Sophie becomes pregnant. However, Gerrie’s band now has the chance to support a famous rock band, but need £40,000 tour money. Gerrie comes up with a plan for their baby to be ’kidnapped’ just for a week by friends, so that his father will pay out the ransom.

Help this story become visualized!

I have ensured that this book contains much more than just the budding romance between Gerrie and Sophie.  There is suspense, kidnap, jealousy and tragedy played out against a backdrop of two rock bands; one in the 1990s trying to reach the top, and then fast-forward to 2017 where another rock star is living the high life in Brazil and all the loose ends of the story come together.
